What Is The Labouchere System?

Say, for example, you would like to win £20. This could then be split into 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, and 4. This all adds up to 20.

Once you have written your numbers down, grab your pen and add the 2 outside numbers together (in our example, it would be 1+4), and this would give you your bet.

In our example, we would be betting £5. If we were to win, we would then cross off those 2 outside numbers and bet on the next 2 numbers. If we were to lose, we would then add the previous bet amount as an outside number. Our sequence would then look as follows: 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5.

As you can see, this roulette system is a little bit more complex than the Martingale, but once you have tried it a few times and practised, you will get the hang of it. And then you can go on to test on the various forms of roulette such as European roulette or French roulette. 

Does The Labouchere System Work?

The Labouchere system can work, and there are many pros and cons to using it. Let’s take a look at the pros first! One advantage to using the Labouchere roulette system is that it is easy to manage your bets because you are the one who decides when to stop before you begin.

The Labouchere system also doesn’t rely on several wins or several losses to bring in those bigger wins. Also, if you do happen to have a losing streak, it won’t have as adverse an effect as it would if you were using the Martingale system. 

When using the Labouchere system, it’s easy to determine your bet amount as you have it planned out already. You have more of an idea of the bets you will place until you meet your goal.

There are also a few cons to implementing the Labouchere roulette system. This system has less immediate risk than the Martingale roulette strategy. However, it runs into the similar issue of becoming difficult to maintain after a losing streak; the losses can quickly become rather detrimental and push you that much further from your target amount.
