Roulette Tier Strategy Explained

The Tier bet, often known as ‘Tiers du Cylindre’ or simply ‘Tiers’, is a popular ‘call bet’ or ‘announced bet’. It involves six split bets, covering a total of 12 numbers opposite the ‘Voisins du zero’ section on the wheel. 

Each split bet requires one chip, and hence, a total of six chips are needed for a Tier bet. The idea is to divide the roulette wheel into three equal parts, and the Tier represents the bottom third. 

In the event of a winning Tier bet, the payout structure is as follows: for a successful split bet (i.e., if the ball lands on any of the two numbers in the split), the payout is 17 to 1. Therefore, if the ball lands in any of the 12 numbers covered by the Tier bet, the player wins and will receive 17 times the original stake while losing the stakes on the other five split bets.
